1. About these Terms
eurights.games is operated by {{ op.name }} (“we”, “us”), a company registered in {{ op.countryText }} under number {{ op.regNo }}. These Terms apply whenever you use the site, and by using it you accept them. How we handle information is explained in the Privacy notice.
2. Using eurights.games
eurights.games is free to use in your browser, with no account, payment or subscription. You may use it to learn, practise and teach, including running sessions with a class or a team. It is designed for adults and older students; if you are under the age of legal majority where you live, please read these Terms with a parent, guardian or teacher.
3. Educational information, not legal advice
eurights.games provides educational material about EU digital rights. It does not give individual legal advice, and using it, or writing to us, does not create a lawyer–client or other professional relationship. The scenarios are fictional; real judgments and decisions are named and linked to their official sources.
Laws, judgments and guidance change. Before relying on a point for an important real-world decision, check it against the current official source and, where appropriate, take professional advice.
4. Your progress stays on your device
No account is required. You can play without saving progress. If you choose Save progress, eurights.games stores your progress in that browser so that features such as XP, streaks and unfinished activities can continue across visits. Saved progress stays in that browser: we cannot restore it if it is deleted, and it does not move with you to another browser or device. When we change a game, some saved progress may no longer apply.
5. Acceptable use
Please use eurights.games lawfully and fairly. In particular, do not:
- present its content as legal advice, or a certificate from it as a qualification;
- impersonate us, or suggest that we endorse you, your organisation or your product;
- copy, republish or sell substantial parts of our original material, or use it to build a competing product, without our permission, except as the law allows;
- attack, disrupt or overload the site, introduce malicious code, get around its technical protections, or use automated tools in a way that harms its availability for others.
Search-engine indexing, link checking and accessibility testing at a reasonable rate are fine. If you find a security weakness, please report it in good faith through Contact. Where it is needed to protect the site and its users, we may block or limit access from a source of attacks or abuse.
6. Intellectual property and official legal materials
The original material on eurights.games, including the games, scenarios, questions, explanations and summaries, the design and software, and the eurights.games name, belongs to {{ op.name }} or its licensors. Some software and typefaces are used under their own open-source licences.
Laws, judgments and other official legal materials are not ours: they keep their own legal and public-source status, and reusing them follows the conditions of the official source. You are welcome to link to any page, to quote short extracts and share screenshots for teaching, study or commentary with eurights.games named as the source, and to use assistive technologies, translation tools and other ordinary browser tools.
7. Certificates
A certificate records the completion of quizzes on eurights.games. It is generated by your own browser, and we keep no register of certificates. It is not an academic qualification, a professional accreditation or an official government certification.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the site available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may take it offline for maintenance, and we may add, change or withdraw games, features and content. We update the content when the law changes, though there may be a delay; each legal source shows when it was last checked.
9. External links
The site links to official sources such as EUR-Lex, the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Commission and national authorities. We do not control those websites, and their own terms apply. Where an official source and our summary differ, the official source prevails.
10. Liability and your mandatory rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, eurights.games is provided as it is, and we are not liable for loss arising from decisions taken in reliance on its educational content or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for intentional wrongdoing or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you use eurights.games as a consumer, you keep every right that the law of the country where you live gives you and that cannot be excluded by agreement.
11. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of {{ op.countryText }}.These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which {{ op.name }} is established.
The courts of {{ op.countryText }} shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of eurights.games.

12. Changes and contact
